A path of integral formation
The Educational Project sets out the guidelines that shape the work of the Colleges, addressing students, educators (directors, spiritual assistants, tutors) and staff, each according to their own responsibilities and competences.
Its dimensions interweave and support each other, forming people capable of inhabiting the world with responsibility and hope.
Mission
With our Colleges we wish to promote the hospitality and educational accompaniment of university students away from home. We hope that the experience of college life, while respecting the different sensitivities and personal histories of each individual, can be a space for human and Christian growth, for in-depth cultural and civic formation, and for growth in responsibility.
The educational project sets out the guidelines that shape the work of the Colleges, addressing students, educators (directors, spiritual assistants, tutors) and staff, each according to their own responsibilities and competences.
Personal responsibility
Through the college experience, we want to create a community animated by a culture of personal responsibility and capable of forming a free, aware and respectful will towards individual differences. We therefore consider indispensable the respect of rules, the voluntary acceptance of mutual limits and obligations, and the assumption of personal and collective responsibilities for the common good.
Relational vitality
The College aims to be a context capable of fostering meaningful subjective experiences through the creation of authentic bonds, achieved through time for encounter and dialogue, listening and exchange. In real relationships we become capable of seeking encounter with the other.
We therefore think of the College as a favourable occasion for creating new affective and intellectual bonds. Living in the College means inhabiting a shared time and space, in which we learn to build a network of authentic relationships that help us rediscover the meaning of community.
The expression of faith
The Fondazione La Vincenziana is animated by a Christian inspiration that is expressed in the way of inhabiting and living the College. This is not about imposing a creed, but offering spaces and occasions in which each person can give voice to their relationship with God, whatever the starting point of their journey.
The expression of faith is manifested in personal and communal prayer, in the celebration of the Eucharist, in the dialogue between faith and culture. It is also expressed in the choice of a lifestyle oriented towards service and attention to the most vulnerable. In this sense, faith is not a private matter but a force capable of transforming the way of being in the world and building authentic relationships.
Cultural vitality
We think of the university college as a culturally vibrant and stimulating environment that helps students become active protagonists of the knowledge they acquire. Cultural vitality is founded on the desire to know: a desire that is manifested in personal initiative, curiosity, reflective capacity, originality, and decisional autonomy. A culturally vibrant environment stimulates and sustains commitment to study as well as the determination and willpower to see it through.
Spiritual search
We are convinced that the spiritual dimension gives meaning and depth to life, and that it belongs to every person. Through individual and communal encounter and reflection we aim to develop this awareness and to help understand that cultivating the spiritual dimension completes our humanity.
Entering the spiritual dimension means desiring to listen to our innermost part, the place where we encounter ourselves. In this hidden place, existential questions arise that we cannot ignore. Nurturing the desire to find answers is what the community we want to animate cares about.
Methodology
The educational programme of the Colleges is not reduced to a schedule of activities, but is realised through a method that combines personalised accompaniment and community life. The educators — directors, spiritual assistants and tutors — are present in the daily life of students: not to control, but to walk alongside them, to listen and support the growth of each person.
The educational proposals are not imposed but offered freely: learning takes place through lived experience, direct dialogue and shared reflection. Dialogue is the privileged tool through which one learns to listen to others, rework one's own ideas and build more mature thinking. Periodic review of the journey, personal and communal, keeps alive the tension towards shared goals.
